MAPLEWOOD – The relatively young Columbia High School varsity wrestling team finished its season at the District 10 Tournament at Millburn HS, Feb. 19-20.
Freshman Blake McGowan had the Cougars’ best finish as he took fourth place at the 152-pound weight class. McGowan just missed qualifying for the Region 3 Tournament at Union HS. The top three finishers in each weight class qualified for the Region.
CHS finished last among the 10 teams at the District. But the future remains bright, led by McGowan and other young CHS wrestlers who showed much promise.
