MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The Columbia High School girls’ varsity basketball team won back-to-back games last week, beating Shabazz and Newark Academy.
Senior Kayla Anderson scored 27 points to lead CHS to a 67-30 win at Shabazz on Jan. 16 in Newark. Sophomore Maia Little had 10 points; junior Sage Cleghorn had nine points; and senior Briaille Carthens netted six points.
Freshman Corteney Provilon-Louis had 14 points in the 40-29 win at Newark Academy on Jan. 18 in Livingston. Anderson had 11 points; Carthens netted eight points and collected four steals; Little had five points and four rebounds and senior Hernann Angerville had two points and six rebounds.
Columbia fell at Verona, 42-24, Jan. 20, to move to a 3-6 overall record. Anderson scored seven points and Provilon-Louis had five points.
