Columbia HS girls’ basketball team hopes to reverse fortunes

MAPLEWOOD – The Columbia High School girls’ varsity basketball team hopes to turn around its fortunes after a tough 0-5 start to the season.

Dominique Rayam scored a game-high 25 points in the 51-31 loss at West Orange on Dec. 22.

CHS lost three games in the Cougar Classic at Chatham, falling to Governor Livingston, Chatham and Hunterdon Central.

Rayam had eight points and Kayla Anderson had five points in the 32-19 loss to Governor Livingston on Dec. 26.

Rayam scored 21 points and Shadekay Haughton had seven points in the 45-44 loss to Chatham on Dec. 28. Courtney Miller had six points and Ashley Phillip had five.

Rayam had eight points in the 39-24 loss to Hunterdon Central on Dec. 30. Haughton had five points; Jasmine Keegan had four and Melissa Etienne had two.
