Columbia HS girls’ fencing team loses in state tournament final to Bergen Tech

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – For the second year in a row, the Columbia High School girls’ fencing team lost to Bergen County Tech in the NJSIAA state team tournament final held at Morris Hills HS on Feb. 21.

Bergen Tech won 16-11 in a rematch of last year’s state tournament final.

Zander Rhodes had three wins in foil; Sophia Heriveaux had two wins in sabre and Jasmine Lecount-McClannahan had two wins in epee for Columbia, under head coach Tiffni Ginlock.

Janine Bacchus-Joseph and Brianna Stellini each had a win in sabre; and Isabelle Wendt and Ana Cowie each had a win in epee.
