MAPLEWOOD – The Columbia High School girls’ indoor track and field team won the girls’ team title at the Super Essex Conference-American Division Championship meet at the Jersey City Armory on Sunday, Dec. 27.
Since the SEC’s inception in 2009, the CHS girls’ team has won the meet title in each season, making it six in a row.
The Cougars had 75 team points. Montclair was second with 68 points.

In the 55-meter dash, Cheyenne Trigg took first place in 7.43 seconds and Sienna Farrell was second in 7.55.
In the 400-meter run, Trigg took first place in 1:00.8, Briana Reckling was second in 1:00.21 and Catherine Jordan was fifth in 1:02.17.
In the 800-meter run, Reckling took first place in 2:25.95; Trigg took third in 2:27.10 and Jordan was sixth in 2:29.09.
In the 55-meter hurdles, Ciara French took fourth in 9.26.
The 4×400-meter relay team took second in 4:16.42. Dahria Lewis, Farrell, Sumaiyah Hill and Trigg were the runners.
In the high jump, Jordan took second at 4 feet, 10 inches.
On the boys’ side, CHS finished sixth overall in the team standings.
For CHS, Donte Rolley took fourth in the 400-meter run in 52.97. Here are other notable CHS results:
In the 800-meter run, Rolley was fourth in 2:03.20 and Venchardson Vital was fifth in 2:03.33. In the 3,200-meter run, Tim Depue took third in 10:18.20. The 4×400 relay team took third in 3:35.81. In the high jump, Roodly Ovil was fourth at 5-10.
