MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Columbia High School girls indoor track and field team finished in third place overall in the girls team standings at the Essex County Relays held at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island, N.Y., on Sunday, Jan. 12.
The Cougars had 33 points, one point shy of second-place West Essex. Montclair won the team title with 52 points.
Bailey Hoff, a junior, took second place in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet-10 inches. She and senior Dylan Herbert, who was eighth at 4-6, combined to win the team high jump.
The sprint medley relay took second place in 4:20.60. The distance medley relay took third place in 13:46.07.
On the boys’ side, the Cougars finished in eighth place in the boys team standings. CHS took fourth in both the shuttle hurdles in 34.44 and 4×800-meter relay in 8:47.52. St. Benedict’s Prep won the team title.
