MAPLEWOOD/SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — The third-seeded Columbia High School girls volleyball team lost to sixth-seeded Watchung Hills, 25-17, 25-6, in the quarterfinals of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4, tournament on Nov. 3 at Columbia High School.
The Cougars, under head coach Juan Bas, finished the season with a 14-9 overall record. In addition, CHS won the Super Essex Conference–Colonial Division title this season with an 11-1 mark in the division.
Among the CHS contributors this season were seniors Jillian Canning, Kate Eigen, Mara Altamore, Jaelen Clyburn, Liza Erickson, Sylvie Ziefert and Avery Anderson; juniors Natalia Kraiker, Danielle Ilunga, Jamie Fardin, Allie Harris and Julia Roses; and sophomores Paloma Duvergne and Zoe Hall.
