Columbia HS girls’ volleyball team upsets Bloomfield in state tournament

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The 39th-seeded Columbia High School varsity girls’ volleyball team upset 26th-seeded Bloomfield, 25-23, 13-25, 25-22, in the preliminary round of the NJSIAA Group 4 state tournament at Bloomfield on Monday, Oct. 30.

Shayla Keegan had 11 kills, Maya Goldner had 14 digs; Maggie Davis had 13 digs; Hannah LaCon posted 12 digs, Grace Petroccia notched 11 assists, Shri Taylor had eight digs and Claire Salinardo had eight assists for CHS, which improved to 15-7. CHS was scheduled to visit seventh-seeded Southern in the first round Oct. 31.
