Columbia HS indoor track athletes give good efforts at State Meet of Champions

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – Columbia High School’s Briana Reckling and Catherine Jordan gave good efforts at the NJSIAA indoor track and field State Meet of Champions held at the Bennett Center in Toms River on Feb. 24.

Reckling finished 13th in the girls’ 400-meter dash in 58.93 and Jordan took 18th in the girls’ 800-meter run in 2:22.11.

On the boys’ side, the CHS 4×800-meter relay took 19th in 8:22.04 at the Meet of Champions the following day at the Bennett Center.

At the Eastern States on Feb. 20 held at the New York City Armory, Reckling finished eighth in the 400-meter dash in 58.37; Jordan finished 10th in 58.70 and also took 10th in the long jump at 17 feet-1 1/2 inches; Ayanna Henry took 12th in the girls’ triple jump at 35-7 3/4; and the CHS boys’ 4×400-meter relay took 10th in 8:08.28.
