Columbia HS softball team blanks Glen Ridge

MAPLEWOOD/SOUTH ORANGE – Sophomore pitcher Jordan Stephan struck out nine and allowed two hits and two walks to lead the Columbia High School varsity softball team to a 10-0 win over Glen Ridge on Monday, April 11, at Meadowland Park field.

Stephan, sophomore right fielder Addie Nicholas and sophomore first baseman Sophie Goldman each had two hits and two RBI for the Lady Cougars, who moved to a 2-2 record.

In earlier action, sophomore catcher Ally Krause went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBI, and two runs to lead the Cougars to a 12-4 win at West Orange on April 6. Sophomore center fielder Clementine Sherman went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run and Stephan gave up four runs, three earned, on five hits with 13 strikeouts and one walk in a complete-game effort.

CHS lost at Verona, 12-4, April 8. Stephan went 2-for-4 with three RBI and sophomore shortstop Maya Goldner went 2-for-4.
