MAPLEWOOD – Jordan Stephan fired a three-hit shutout with seven strikeouts to lead the Columbia High School varsity softball team to a 4-0 home win over Cranford on May 10. Stephan also went 1-for-1 with an RBI and a walk. Clementine Sherman went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs; Sophie Goldman went 2-for-3 with an RBI, walk, and a run; and Maya Goldner went 2-for-4 with a run.
The Cougars then fell at Watchung Hills, 10-0, May 12, to move to a 9-10 record.
