South Orange Dolphins make waves at Meet of Champions to cap great summer season

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The South Orange Dolphins took 21 swimmers to the North Jersey Summer Swim League Meet of Champions in New Providence on July 26.

Notable swims were from Marie Fagan, who took first in the 15-18 Girls 100 IM and second in the 15-18 Girls 50 Butterfly.

Juliana Bender placed second in the 15-18 Girls 50 Breaststroke.

Lilah Secher placed second in the 9 & 10 Girls 25 Backstroke.

Brice Spreeman was victorious in the 9 & 10 Boys 25 Backstroke.

Owen Ripley won the 13 & 14 Boys 50 Backstroke and was second in the 13 & 14 Boys 50 Butterfly.

The 12 & Under Boys Medley Relay of Owen Ripley, Brice Spreeman, Henry Herbst and Luke Robinson were victorious as well.

Notable newcomers to the MOC were Layla Dunston, 7, who placed sixth in the 8 & Under 25 Backstroke and Lola Silver, 7, who was fifth in the 8 & Under Butterfly.

The Dolphins completed the dual meet season at 5-3. All three losses came to a total of 5 points. Said head coach Michael Goldberg: “This was the best season the team has had in several years!”
