Villagers 10U Softball team wins Mount Olive Tournament championship

MAPLEWOOD/SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The Maplewood-South Orange Villagers 10U Softball team won the Mount Olive Schools Back Tournament championship on Oct. 2. The Villagers opened up the tournament with a tough 6-4 loss against a team from Monroe, N.Y. But it didn’t take long for the Villagers to get back on track! They followed the loss with a 9-2 win against Mount Olive and a 3-2 win over Sparta. They advanced to the Championship game in a rematch against Monroe and won, 13-6.

Excellent pitching, fielding and hitting has been the key to the success of the team this fall.
