Defending champ West Orange HS boys’ soccer team jolts Hackensack to advance to section quarterfinals

WEST ORANGE, NJ – Andrew DiPalma, Brent Llewellyn, Diego Pedrido and Kevin Zeligson each scored a goal to lead the third-seeded and defending champion West Orange High School boys’ soccer team to a 4-0 home win over 14th-seeded Hackensack in the first round of the state North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 tournament on Oct. 31.

Llewellyn, Josh Figueroa, Wes Rideau-Winds, and Paul Shuler each had an assist.

Schuler made five saves for the Mountaineers, who improved to 13-2-2 and will host sixth-seeded Clifton in the quarterfinals on Nov. 3. The winner will face the winner between No. 2 Morristown and No. 3 Bergen Tech in the quarterfinals Nov. 7.
