WEST ORANGE, NJ – Golda Och Academy is pleased to announce that Dennis Kozar will be taking over as the new athletic director, replacing Janet Herman, who will be retiring after 25 years of dedicated service to the school.
Kozar has worked in the Upper School (grades 6-12) as a member of the health and physical education department and has also coached the Middle School soccer, junior varsity basketball and varsity baseball teams. He brings more than 11 years of experience working in various New Jersey school districts in the health and physical education field to the position and has also served as the athletic director for the Harding Township School District.
“Mr. Kozar has proven to be an asset to Golda Och Academy as a teacher and coach since he began working here in 2016,” said Adam Shapiro, Head of School at Golda Och Academy. “His ability to connect with students and his passion for health and wellness, combined with his past experience working in school athletics, makes him the perfect person to elevate our athletic program to new heights.”
Kozar holds a BA in Physical Education and Health from Kean University and a Masters of Education in Teacher Leadership from Rowan University.
