Freshman Tyler Galantini sparks West Orange HS golf team to successful season

WEST ORANGE – Freshman Tyler Galantini sparked the West Orange High School golf  team to a 12-10 record, 6-6 in the Super Essex Conference this season.

Galantini, playing in the first or second slot in the lineup, averaged 3.95 over par overall and a plus 3.25 in conference matches. He shot nine rounds under 40. His low round was 37, which he duplicated three times.

In the SEC Divisional Championship held at East Orange Golf Course, he shot 75, which tied him for fourth place. Francis Byrne Golf Course hosted the SEC Tournament, where he finished with a round of 81, which tied him for fifth place.

“Galantini is long off the tee, has pinpoint accuracy with his irons and has a great touch around the green,” WOHS head coach Bill Urbanski said. “He is always working to improve his game. You can find him at the putting green before and after matches, fine-tuning his chipping and putting.”

Galantini was selected to the SEC All-Division First Team.
