WEST ORANGE – Jeremiah Moore scored on a put-back shot with one second left to lift the West Orange High School boys’ varsity basketball team to a thrilling 62-61 triple-overtime win over Barringer on Saturday, Jan. 9, in Newark.
Moore finished with a team-high 26 points. Pat Jamison had 12 points; Nashiem Harte had eight; Doug Hughes and Stephon Sheard each had six and Andrew Scholz had four for WOHS, which improved to a 6-1 record. The score was tied 51-51 at the end of the fourth quarter. Each team scored two points in both the first and second overtimes. WOHS outscored Barringer, 7-6, in the third overtime.
In previous action, Moore had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Jamison also had 13 points to lift the Mountaineers to a 59-57 home win over Livingston.
Harte had 12 points and four assists for the Mountaineers, who outscored Livingston, 19-11, in the second quarter for a 32-26 lead at the half.
