WEST ORANGE, N.J. — Week 3 brings another outstanding West Orange High School Sports Media Association Scholar Athlete of the Week: Lucy Fishkin.
“As a four-year varsity team member and this year’s captain of the varsity girls soccer squad, Lucy has proven herself to be a true leader, both on and off the field,” according to a statement by the WOHSSMA. “Her dedication to the sport, coupled with her 4.38 GPA, showcases her ability to excel in multiple areas of her life.
“Lucy’s achievements don’t stop there. She’s also the vice president of the Math Honors Society and a dedicated member of the National Honors Society, demonstrating her academic commitment to excellence. Beyond her impressive academic and extracurricular commitments, Lucy is a powerhouse in community service, having logged an impressive 150 hours. Her passion for giving back to the community shines through, making her a role model for her peers.
“Lucy has her sights set on attending Tulane or Northeastern University to pursue her dream of becoming a geneticist. Lucy truly embodies the spirit of the West Orange community, and we are proud to add her to our Scholar Athlete of the Week, Class of 2024.”
