NUTLEY, NJ – The fourth-seeded Nutley High School girls’ varsity volleyball team defeated 13th-seeded West Orange, 25-13, 25-19, in the first round of the Essex County Tournament on Friday, Oct. 21, at NHS.
The Raiders, under first-year head coach Jenna Dwyer, won their fourth straight match and sixth in the past seven matches to improve to a 13-3 record.
West Orange had its eight-game winning streak snapped and moved to a 19-5 record.
NHS will host No. 5 seed Montclair Kimberley Academy in the quarterfinals on or by Oct. 25.
