WEST ORANGE, NJ – The West Orange High School varsity football team is getting ready for the 2017 season.

The Mountaineers hosted a scrimmage on Friday, August 25, against Lacey Township.

WOHS, under head coach Jim Matsakis, will open the season on Friday night, Sept. 8, on the road against Union City at 7:15 p.m.
Last season the Mountaineers enjoyed a nice turnaround. After starting 1-3, the team won five straight games to clinch a berth in the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 5 playoffs. WOHS fell to Ridgewood in the first round to finish with a respectable 6-4 record.
