Seton Hall Prep basketball team goes to 12-1 with 7 wins in row

WEST ORANGE – The Seton Hall Prep varsity basketball team defeated Irvington, Orange and University last week to extend its winning streak to seven games and improve to 12-1 overall record, 6-0 in the Super Essex Conference-American Division.

Senior guard TJ Gibbs had 19 points and four assists; junior forward Treyvon Bennett had 17 points and nine rebounds; and senior forward Zach Keller had eight points and six rebounds to lead the Pirates to an 83-52 home win over Irvington on Jan. 12 in a divisional game.

Gibbs scored 20 points with seven steals; Bennett scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds; and Keller had eight points, eight rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks in the 77-40 divisional win at Orange on Jan. 14.  

Gibbs scored 14 points and dished out five assists; and senior guard Stephen Ferraro had 14 points, six assists and three steals in the 57-50 divisional win at University on Jan. 16 in Newark. Keller had 12 points and 11 rebounds; and Bennett had 11 points, 13 rebounds and three steals.
