Seton Hall Prep basketball team improves to 15-0; likely No. 1 seed in the ECT

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The Seton Hall Prep basketball team went 2-0 last week to improve to 15-0 on the season.

On Tuesday, Jan. 12, the Pirates traveled to Newark to take on West Side and won, 66-54.  Sophomore guard Jabri Abdur-Rahim scored 20 points and added 15 rebounds; junior guard Ashton Miller had 19 points, five rebounds and five assists; senior forward Alex Imegwu scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds; and sophomore guard Mike Curren came off the bench to score five points to go along with four rebounds and six assists.

On Thursday, Jan. 25, the Pirates traveled to Newark to play Barringer and won, 66-58. Miller scored 22 points and posted five assists; Abdur-Rahim scored 19 points with eight rebounds.

 

The Pirates are expected to be named the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 72nd Essex County Tournament at the seeding meeting held at Glen Ridge HS on Jan. 29.
