Seton Hall Prep basketball team went 1-1 last week to improve record to 2-2

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The Seton Hall Prep basketball team went 1-1 last week to improve their record to 2-2.

On Thursday, they traveled to Newark to take on Payne Tech. They lost 44-40. Alexander Zebrowski scored 10 points with 3 rebounds, Josh Hopson scored 8 points with 6 rebounds, and Geordan Walker scored 8 points with 5 rebounds.

On Saturday, they traveled to Metuchen to take on St. Joseph’s (Metuchen) and defeated them in a very exciting game 51-48 in overtime. Trailing 44-42, Geordan Walker hit a three pointer on an assist by Mike Curran with :20 left in regulation to give the Pirates a 45-44 lead. St. Joe’s tied the score at 45-45 with :01.8 left. In overtime, Zebrowski gave Seton Hall a 47-45 lead with 2 free throws with 2:47 left.They increased their lead to 49-46 when Colin Flaherty made 2 of 4 free throws and closed out the scoring when Curran made 2 free throws with :04.8 left. For the game, Ashton Miller led the team with 11 points 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Walker scored 10 points with 10 rebounds and 3 assists, Curren had 9 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists, Zebrowski scored 8 points, and Mario Bollo scored 7 points with 5 rebounds.
