Seton Hall Prep football team falls to St. Joseph of Montvale

The Seton Hall Prep  football team traveled to Montvale to take on St. Joseph Regional on Saturday, Oct. 20. The Pirates lost, 45-10, to drop their record to 4-4 on the season.

St. Joseph jumped out to a 24-0 lead when Seton Hall took over on their 15-yard line with 4:56 remaining in the second quarter, driving  to the St. Joe’s 34-yard line. Senior placekicker Zach Hoban kicked a 51-yard field goal with :36 left in the second quarter to make the score 24-3.

St. Joe’s added three touchdowns in the third quarter to extend its lead to 45-3 going into the fourth quarter.

Seton Hall drove 71 yards in three plays with Aidan Gilman hitting Dominic Busby on a 35-yard scoring pass with 7:35 left in the game and Hoban added the extra point to make the score 45-10.

SHP stats

Gilman was 12-18 passing for 133 yards, 1 TD; 10 carries for 20 yards.

Busby caught five passes for 77  yards and 1 TD and Matt Colantuono caught five passes for 43 yards.

Defense: Ryan Monteleone had eight tackles, Vincent Henrich had seven tackles, and Andrew Mitzak had five tackles.

Next game: Seton Hall will host Pope John XXIII (Sparta) in its final regular season game at Brendan P. Tevlin Memorial Field on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m.
