Seton Hall Prep hockey team moves to 8-4-1

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The Seton Hall Prep ice hockey team went 0-1-1 this past week to drop its record to 8-4-1 on the season.

On Wednesday, Jan. 2, the Pirates traveled to the Jersey Shore Arena in Wall Township to take on Christian Brothers Academy. They lost 4-0 as Jake Schunke had 20 saves.

On Friday, Jan. 4, the Pirates  traveled to the Ice House in Hackensack to oppose Bergen Catholic. The game ended in a hard-fought 2-2 tie. After Bergen Catholic opened the scoring 1:39 into the second period, Thomas Colucci tied the score at 1-1 just 2:23 later on an assist by Ryan Kemp. Bergen Catholic retook the lead when it scored with 2:08 left in the second period. In the third period, Colucci scored on the power-play for his second goal goal of the game with 4:13 left on assists by Phil Feinberg and Kemp. Schunke had 19 saves as Seton Hall outshot Bergen Catholic, 40-21.
