Seton Hall Prep hockey team to play in Pepsi Classic

WEST ORANGE, NJ (updated Monday Dec. 11, 1:22 p.m.) – The Seton Hall Prep hockey team will be playing in the Pepsi Classic held at the Ice Vault in Wayne.

The Pirates will face Randolph on Dec. 27 at 6:15 p.m.; Glen Rock on Dec. 29 at 8:30 p.m.; and St. Joseph of Montvale on Jan. 1 at 3 p.m.

The Pirates went 1-2 last week to move to a 3-2-1 mark.

SHP lost to Christian Brothers Academy, 2-0, Dec. 4, at Richard J. Codey Arena. John Profaci had 22 saves for SHP.

On Friday, Dec. 8, the Pirates  traveled to The Igloo in Mount Laurel and lost to St. Augustine Prep, 4-1. SHP took a 1-0 lead when Kevin Bishop scored a short-handed goal with 9:50 left in the second period on assists by Harrison Rocheville and Timothy O’Connell. St. Augustine scored two goals to close out the second period and two goals in the third period for the victory. Profaci had 16 saves.

On Sunday, Dec. 10, the Pirates defeated Bergen Catholic, 6-4, at the Ice House in Hackensack. Stephen Buck scored three goals; Sal Micciche scored two goals; and Devon Dobres scored a goal. Thomas Colucci had three assists; John O’Hern had two assists; and Phil Feinberg and Anthony Martine each had one assist. Anthony Caruso had 23 saves.
