Seton Hall Prep hockey team suffers tough losses

WEST ORANGE – The Seton Hall Prep varsity ice hockey team lost to Gloucester Catholic and Bishop Eustace to move to a 2-7-2 record.

The Pirates hosted Gloucester Catholic on Monday, Jan. 4, at Codey Arena, losing, 3-2. Down 2-0, senior defenseman Alexander Cautela scored on assists by freshman forward Thomas Colucci and senior forward Keith Bishop with :15 left in the second period. SHP tied the score 2-2 when Bishop scored on an assist by junior defenseman Thomas Freda with 1:04 left in the third period. Gloucester Catholic scored with :06.8 left to win it. Junior goalie Jack McConeghy made 19 saves for the Pirates.

SHP dropped a 1-0 decision to Bishop Eustace on Friday, Jan. 8, at the Flyers Skate Zone in Pennsauken. McConeghy made 20 saves.
