WEST ORANGE – The Seton Hall Prep varsity hockey team team had one game last week and played Gloucester Catholic to a 3-3 tie on Monday, Jan. 18, at Hollydell Arena in Sewell to move to a 2-8-3 record.
SHP trailed 1-0 in the first period when junior forward Matthew Robinson scored on an assist by sophomore Stephen Buck with 4:12 left to tie the score at 1-1. In the second period, freshman Thomas Colucci scored a power play-goal on an assist by sophomore forward Devon Dobres, and senior forward Jack Rutter scored on an assist by senior defenseman Hunter D’Avella to give the Pirates a 3-1 lead with 9:46 left in the second period. Gloucester Catholic scored a goal in the second period and a goal in the third period to make the final 3-3. SHP freshman goalie John Profaci had 27 saves.
