Seton Hall Prep lacrosse team advances to Non-Public ‘A’ state final vs. Delbarton

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The second-seeded Seton Hall Prep lacrosse team defeated third-seeded Christian Brothers Academy, 15-3, in the semifinals of the NJSIAA Non-Public “A” state tournament on Saturday, May 26 at Brendan P. Tevlin Memorial Field.

The Pirates advanced to the final against top-seeded and two-time defending champion Delbarton on May 30 at Livingston HS.

Kyle Stephenson scored four goals; Cole Kirst had three goals and four assists Griffin Westlin had three goals and three assists; and Luke Blanc had three goals  for the Pirates, who improved to 19-2. The Pirates lost to Delbarton this season, 16-9, April 14, in their first loss of the season. The other loss was to Summit. Delbarton, also the two-time defending NJSIAA Tournament of Champions state champion, is 16-1 this season.

The Pirates defeated seventh-seeded St. Joseph of Montvale, 19-6, May 22, in the quarterfinals at the Brendan P. Tevlin Memorial Field. Blanc had five goals and one assist; Westlin had four goals and two assists; and Stephenson had three goals and three assists to lead SHP.
