Seton Hall Prep lacrosse team advances to Non-Public A tournament quarterfinals

WEST ORANGE – Jack Sarson had four goals and one assist and Griffin Westlin had three goals and three assists to lead the third-seeded Seton Hall Prep varsity lacrosse team to a 19-1 win over 14th-seeded St. John Vianney in the first round of the state Non-Public A tournament on May 19 at Verducci Field at SHP.

Brian Tevlin had two goals and one assist; Jack Rutter and Dan Zarillo each had one goal and one assist; and Sean Leahey, Liam McCabe, Thomas Colucci, Cullen Wolff, Richie Radici, Cole Kirst, Alexander Giaquinto and Jake Engelke each had one goal. Kirst and Will Juhlin each had one save for the Piraes, who improved to a 13-4 record.

SHP will host sixth-seeded St. Joseph of Metuchen in the quarterfinals on May 25. The semifinals are May 28 and the final is June 1.

Rutter had four goals; Leahey and Sarson each had three goals and Tevlin posted two goals and four assists in a 15-8 win at Montclair Kimberley Academy on May 20 in a regular-season game. The Pirates improved to a 14-4 record.
