Seton Hall Prep lacrosse team moves to 2-0 on season

WEST ORANGE – The Seton Hall Prep varsity lacrosse team defeated West Essex and Mendham to improve to a 2-0 record.

Sophomore attackman Griffin Westlin scored five goals and added one assist and sophomore midfielder Jack Sarson netted four goals in a 17-7 home win over West Essex in the season opener March 30 at Verducci Field.

Junior midfielder Richie Radici and senior attackman Jack Rutter each had two goals; junior midfielder Brian Tevlin had one goal and two assists; freshman attackman Cullen Wolff, freshman Thomas Colucci and junior midfielder Michael Mughetto each had a goal; junior Collin Leigh had one assist; sophomore Colin Kirst made eight saves and sophomore Cameron Fiore made two saves for SHP.

The Pirates rallied to defeat Mendham, 12-11, Saturday, April 2, in Mendham. SHP outscored Mendham, 5-2, in the fourth quarter. Senior midfielder Sean Leahey had five goals and one assist; Sarson had three goals; Tevlin had one goal and three assists; senior Liam McCabe, Westlin and Kirst each had one goal.
