Seton Hall Prep soccer team advances in Non-Public ‘A’ North tournament

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The Seton Hall Prep soccer team improved its record to 19-1-1 after defeating Oratory, 4-0, in the quarterfinal round of the Non-Public “A” North tournament at Brendan P. Tevlin Memorial Field in West Orange on Friday, Nov. 1.

Alex Treska scored off of a free kick 4:10 into the first half and Lucas Ross scored with an assist from Aidan Dunphy later in the first half. Sal Vito increased the Pirate lead to 3-0 just 2:49 into the second half on assists by Chris Angermund and Seba Niehenke and Ross scored on an assist from Vito. Tomas Hut and Aidan Batista each had a save as they recorded the 18th shutout of the season.

The second-seeded Pirates will host No. 6 seed Don Bosco Prep in the semifinals at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The final is Thursday, Nov. 7. The other semifinal pits No. 1 seed Delbarton against No. 4 seed Pingry.
