Seton Hall Prep soccer team wins twice to move to 6-0-1

WEST ORANGE, NJ (updated Tuesday Sept. 27, 1:46 p.m.) – The Seton Hall Prep soccer team went 2-0 last week to raise its record to 6-0-1 on the season. On Tuesday, Sept. 20, the Pirates played Bloomfield at Livingston HS and won, 3-0. Senior midfielder Brian Tevlin opened the scoring with 26:26 left in the second half on assists by senior defenseman James Reardon and senior forward Ryan Vazquez. With 5:00 left, Tevlin scored an unassisted goal to make it 2-0. With 3:13 left, sophomore forward Skyler Storms scored on assists by junir forward Joe Cubero and sophomore midfielder Rafael de la Torre. SHP outshot Bloomfield, 8-1. SHP sophomore goalie Liam Bertrand recorded one save.

On Thursday, Sept. 22, the Pirates returned to Livingston HS and defeated Livingston, 2-0. Senior forward Mason Toye  scored his seventh goal of the season with 11:46 left in the second half on an assist by sophomore midfielder Joe Kearns. Senior defenseman Jonathan Santos  scored with 3:39 left on an assist by Toye. SHP outshot Livingston, 10-3. Bertrand had two saves and junior Gabe Ferreira had one save.
