Seton Hall Prep soccer team wins two games to improve to 8-1

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The Seton Hall Prep varsity soccer team won both of its matches last week to raise its record to 8-1.

On Tuesday, Sept. 18, the Pirates hosted Newark East Side at Brendan P. Tevlin Memorial Field and won, 3-1.

Nate Dean opened the scoring for Seton Hall with 11:43 left in the first half on assists by Aidan Dunphy and Lucas Ross. Ross increased the lead to 2-0 with 26:30 left in the second half on assists by Skyler Storms and Rafael de la Torre. After East Side cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal just 1:07 later, Ross scored on a penalty kick with 11:00 left to make the final 3-1. Liam Bertrand had  two saves and Anthony Petruzziello had one save for Seton Hall Prep.

On Friday, Sept. 21, the Pirates traveled to Lynn V. Profeta Field at the Underhill Sports Complex to take on Columbia and won, 2-0. Just 7:40 in the opening half, Dunphy scored off an assist by Ross. Dean made it 2-0 with 18:02 left in the second half off of assists by Brandon Real and Ross. Bertrand had two saves and Tomas Hut had one save to secure the clean sheet.
