Seton Hall Prep student-athletes sign National Letters of Intent

WEST ORANGE – Seton Hall Prep senior student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent with their respective colleges and universities to continue their careers on athletic scholarships.

They include TJ Gibbs, University of Notre Dame basketball; Brandon Moorer, Northeastern University track and field; Zach Keller, Princeton University football; Rory Schlageter, Columbia University football; and Tristan Stowell, Providence College soccer.

Gibbs, a 6-foot-1 guard, led the basketball team to the Essex County Tournament title for the second straight season last month and has 1,976 career points, just nine points from moving past his older brother, Sterling Gibbs, on the Pirates’ all-time scoring list. The Pirates, who have a 29-1 record, will play Don Bosco Prep in the state North Jersey Non-Public A tournament championship on March 10 at the Louis Brown Athletic Center on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway.

Moorer finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in 22.70 and sixth in the 400-meter run in 50.27 at the state Meet of Champions at the John Bennett Complex in Toms River on Feb. 27.

Keller, a quarterback, is the Pirates’ all-time leading touchdown passer, leading the football team to a 6-3 playoff season last fall. He also is a starting forward on the basketball team.

Schlageter, a tight end, had 26 receptions for 428 yards and five TDs last fall.

Stowell, a defender, had one goal and seven assists last season in helping the soccer team to the Essex County Tournament title and an 18-2-3 record last fall.
