Seton Hall Prep track and field athletes give good efforts at state Meet of Champions

WEST ORANGE – Seton Hall Prep track and field athletes gave good efforts at the state Meet of Champions at Central Regional HS in Bayville, June 8.

Sophomore Nick Parisi took 22nd out of 29 runners in the 200-meter dash in 22.79. Parisi also took 19th out of 20 runners in the 400-meter dash in 50.84. He also was part of SHP’s 4×100-meter relay that finished 27th out of 36 teams in 44.55. The other SHP runners on that team were senior Brandon Moorer, sophomore Jesse Reid and junior Nick Stefanelli.

In the 800-meter run, senior Mark Morrison took 21st out of 31 runners in 1:57.79.

Moorer, Morrison, Parisi and Reid took 23rd out of 38 teams in the 4×400-meter relay in 3:25.39.

For West Orange High School, senior Timothy VanCauwenberge finished 13th in the 110-meter high hurdles in 14.79.

The Meet of Champions consisted of the top six finishers in each event, plus wild-card berths, from the Group Championships the previous weekend.
