Seton Hall Prep track and field team wins North Jersey Non-Public A Championships team title

WEST ORANGE – The Seton Hall Prep track and field team edged Delbarton to win the team title at the state North Jersey Non-Public A Championships at Northern Burlington Regional HS in Columbus, May 27-28.

The Pirates beat Delbarton by two points, 102-100, based on the top six finishes in each event in the team standings.

Sophomore Nick Parisi won the 400-meter run (49.45), and took fourth in both the 100-meter dash (11.34) and the 200-meter dash (22.84).

Parisi, senior Brandon Moorer, sophomore Jesse Reid and junior Dwayne Warren won the 4×100-meter relay in 43.05.

Sophomores Brandon Hicks and Matt Williams and juniors Malik Kosanovich and Philip Sprague won the 4×800 in 8:18.42.

Moorer was fifth in the 400-meter run in 51.03. In the 800-meter run, Hicks took third (1:58.61) and senior Mark Morrison was fourth (1:58.75). Sophomore Dan Gizzo was sixth in the 3,200 (10:05.88). Sophomore Anthony Algieri was fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles (15.54).

Senior Ammari Sylla won the triple jump at 45-feet-5 ¼ inches. Senior Ikem Eguh was fifth in the high jump (5-8), fourth in the long jump (20-7) and sixth in the triple jump (39-11 ½). Senior Connor McSherry was second in the pole vault (11-0) and third in the javelin (163-0). Senior William Rockson took second in the long jump (20-11) and sophomore Justice Sims took second in the triple jump (42-0 ¼).

The top six finishers in each event qualified for the state Non-Public A Championships at Egg Harbor, June 3-4.
