WEST ORANGE – The Seton Hall Prep varsity wrestling team opened its season on Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Morris Knolls Wrestling Tournament at Morris Knolls High School in Rockaway, finishing in fifth place with 105 points.
The Pirates entered 10 wrestlers, seven of whom placed second, third, or fourth place.
The following Pirates finished in second place: sophomore 113-pound Maguire Pecci, sophomore 126-pound Charlie Cunningham, junior 152-pound Aidan Monteverdi, and junior 160-pound T.J. Calas.
Junior 132-pound Jake Smith finished in third place, and freshman 220-pound Jonathan Alvarado and freshman 285-pound Niko Diakides each finished fourth for the Pirates.
