Seton Hall Prep wrestling team moves to 11-7 record

WEST ORANGE – The Seton Hall Prep varsity wrestling team, coming off its Essex County Tournament team title, Jan. 21-22,  dropped two Super Essex Conference-American Division matches this past week to move its record to 11-7 on the season.

The Pirates hosted Caldwell and lost 36-34, on Jan. 27.

SHP traveled to Cedar Grove on Friday, Jan. 29, and lost, 48-25.

This week, the Pirates are preparing for their last conference match on Friday, Feb. 5, when they will travel to West Orange High School for a 7 p.m. match.

The following are SHP’s top wrestlers: junior 152-pound Aiden Monteverdi, 25-3 record; sophomore 126-pound Charlie Cunningham, 24-2 record; junior 160-pound T.J. Calas, 24-3 record; junior 132-pound Jake Smith, 22-7 record; sophomore 113-pound Maguire Pecci, 21-5 record; senior 120-pound Joe Pratola, 19-6 record; freshman 220-pound Jonathan Alvarado, 19-7 record.
