Seton Hall Prep wrestling team wins second straight SEC-American Division title to cap 18-0 regular season

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The Seton Hall Prep varsity wrestling team traveled to Cedar Grove High School on Wednesday, Jan. 31, and defeated them, 57-9, to capture its second consecutive and fourth overall Super Essex Conference-American Division title.

SHP completed its regular season with an 18-0 dual-meet record. The Pirates will now concentrate on the Non-Public “A” North State Team Tournament. They are the No. 2 seed and received a bye on Monday, Feb. 5. The Pirates will host the winner of No. 3 seed St. Peter’s Prep of Jersey City Prep and No. 6 seed Paramus Catholic on Wednesday, Feb. 7. at 7 p.m. at Tracey Gymnasium. If they win, they will travel to No. 1 seed Delbarton or host No. 4 seed Bergen Catholic on Friday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. in the final.
