WEST ORANGE, NJ – Senior 5-foot-10 guard Goddy Marc scored 17 points, hitting four 3-pointers, to lead the West Orange High School boys’ basketball team to a 66-664 win over Newark Central on Friday, Dec. 14 at home in the season opener.
Senior 6-7 forward William Garth-Hill had 12 points and junior 6-4 forward Ismail Taylor had 11 points for the Mountaineers.
Last season Marc made All-Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division Second Team. His brother, 5-9 senior guard Godly Marc, is another returning player for the Mountaineers.
“Our goals for this season are to work together, make progress and to be competitive,” said WOHS head coach Demond Cowins. “We know that we are playing in a tough conference this season, so we have been preparing our guys to play hard.”
