WEST ORANGE, NJ – The West Orange High School boys’ varsity basketball team defeated Barringer, 49-44, at the Orange HIgh School M.L.K.Classic on Jan. 21. William Garth-Hill had 13 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks; Goddy Marc had 12 points; Renard Barnes Jr. had nine points and four rebounds; Godly Marc posted seven points, seven assists and three steals;and Ismail Taylor had seven points, four rebounds and three blocks.
The next day, WOHS fell to Newark Central, 61-58. Goddy Marc had points; Barnes had 11 points and seven rebounds; Garth-Hill had 10 points and six rebounds; Godly Marc contributed nine points, three assists and two steals; and Taylor had six points and three rebounds.
The Mountaineers lost to a strong Newark East Side team, 66-44, Jan. 24 at home to move to a 6-8 record. Barnes and Joseph Fresco each had 12 points; Garth-Hill had eight points and four rebounds; Goddy Marc had five points, three steals and two assists; Chris Latimer had four points; and Ismail Taylor added three points and four rebounds.
