West Orange HS football players earn conference honors

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange High School football team featured several players who earned Super Football Conference-Liberty Blue Division honors.

They include:

OFFENSE

First Team

• Mason Murdock, junior quarterback
• Amiyn Hanks, junior wide receiver
• Makhi Green, sophomore running back
• Shakhi Carson, junior running back
• Jayson Raines, junior receiver
• Bryan Reitberger, senior place-kicker

Second Team

• Amadu Kamara, senior lineman
• Calvin Nwosu, senior lineman
• Michael Charles, senior running back

DEFENSE

First Team

• Chris Parsons, junior linebacker
• Adonis May, senior defensive back

Second Team

• Dorian Rawls, junior defensive back
• Cade Lipsey, senior defensive back
• Aiden Healey, junior defensive back

Honorable Mention

• Tyreese Travis, senior offensive/defensive lineman

The Mountaineers finished 7-4. In the North Jersey Section 2, Group 5 state playoffs, the fourth-seeded Mountaineers defeated fifth-seeded Piscataway, 30-18, in the first round at home on Nov. 8 before losing at top-seeded and eventual champion Union, 20-14, in the semifinals Nov. 15 to finish the season.
