WEST ORANGE – Senior quarterback Marshall Lipsey threw two touchdown passes and junior slotback Michael Osuji rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries to lead the West Orange High School varsity football team to a 27-17 win over Morristown on Saturday, Nov. 14, at WOHS’ Joe Suriano in the season finale.
The Mountaineers finished the season with a 3-7 record. Lipsey threw a seven-yard TD pass to senior receiver Joel DeLaRosa and senior kicker John Hamilton kicked the extra point to make it 7-0 in the first quarter.
Osuji scored on a five-yard run later in the first quarter and Hamilton kicked the extra point for a 14-0 lead. Morristown kicked a 24-yard field goal in the second quarter to cut it to 14-3 at the half.
In the third quarter, junior receiver Devin White scored on an 11-yard run to extend it to 20-3. The extra-point was missed.
Lipsey threw a 15-yard TD pass to senior receiver Malik Allen and Hamilton kicked the extra point to make it 27-3 in the fourth quarter. Morristown scored two touchdowns to produce the final score.
