West Orange HS football team falls to Morristown; win streak ends at two games

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The West Orange High School varsity football team lost to Morristown, 18-9, Friday night, Oct. 6, at WOHS Joe Suriano Stadium. The loss ended the Mountaineers’ two-game winning streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Morristown held time of possession for 30 of 48 minutes.

After a scoreless first half, Morristown opened the scoring with a 10-yard TD run and a two-point conversion in the third quarter for an 8-0 lead.

The Mountaineers answered when L’trell Bradley returned a punt 15 yards for a touchdown to cut it to 8-6. The two-point conversion failed.

Morristown kicked a field goal in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 11-6.

Brian Reitberger kicked a 32-yard field goal for the Mountaineers to cut it to 11-9.

But Morristown iced the game with a 2-yard TD run. Morristown improved to 2-3.

The Mountaineers hope to bounce back this Friday night when they visit Barringer (2-3) at Schools Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
