PATERSON, NJ – The West Orange High School varsity football team lost to Paterson Kennedy, 22-15, Thursday night, Nov. 9, at Beurle Field in Paterson in an NJSIAA state consolation game in the season finale.
The Mountaineers finished the season with a 3-6-1 record.
West Orange scored its touchdowns in the second half. Shaki Carson scored on a 3-yard run, followed by quarterback Vincent DeSantis’ two-point conversion run, in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, DeSantis hit Jordan White on a 55-yard TD pass and Bryan Reitberger kicked the extra point.
The Mountaineers tied Livingston, 21-21, at home on Oct. 27 in the team’s eighth game of the season. The tie moved the Mountaineers’ record to 3-4-1 and eliminated them from playoff contention. Teams in the top eight in the power-point standings by the eighth game earned playoff berths.
