WEST ORANGE, NJ – The West Orange High School girls indoor track and field team finished in third place in the team standings at the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 State Championships at the Bennett Center in Toms River Feb. 1.
WOHS had 49 points based on the top-six finishes, one point behind second-place Clifton. Ridgewood won the team title.
Abigail Vital won the 55-meter hurdles in 8.50 and the 4×400-meter relay team finished in first place in 4:06.50 to lead WOHS. in the shot put, Denae Hill took second with a throw of 38 feet-4.25 inches and Olivia Prescott was third at 37-5.5. Victoria Rideau-Winds took third place in the 55-meter dash in 7.52. In the 400-meter dash, Kayla Robe was fourth in 1;01.27; Rideau-Winds was fifth in 1:01.44 and Vital was sixth in 1:01.56. Andree Celestin was fifth in the 55 hurdles in 8.83.
For the WOHS boys, Jordan White took fifth in the 55 dash in 6.81 and the 4×400 relay took sixth in 3:37.84.
