WEST ORANGE, NJ – Coming off a successful season last fall, the West Orange High School girls’ varsity soccer team has been working hard this summer, looking to build off a stellar 12-6-3 season in which the team reached the semifinals of the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 state tournament, falling to powerhouse Montclair, 4-0.

The Mountaineers have been training three nights a week this summer. Twice a week they are on the field, while once a week they are on the track for a fitness session, said third-year head coach Sean DeVore.

“We are very excited as we have had many girls come to train with us this summer,” DeVore said. “The team is looking to improve on a 12-6-3 record from last season where we reached the sectional semifinal. We graduate only one starter and we have had a great contribution from our JV, freshman and incoming players in the summer. We are very excited to kick off the season.”
