WEST ORANGE – After tying Newark East Side, 1-1, Dec. 1 in the season opener and losing to Oratory Prep, 6-1, Dec. 6, the West Orange High School varsity ice hockey team defeated Bayonne, 3-2, Dec. 7, in Bayonne for its first win of the season. Charles Aborisade, Davey Campbell and Luke Starbinski each had one goal and one assist; Ryan Rosa had two assists; Thomas Bradley had one assist and Mark Starbinski had 29 saves in the win.
WOHS then tied Dayton, 4-4, Dec. 11, at Union Sports Arena and lost to West Essex, 10-3, Dec. 12, at Codey Arena in West Orange to move to a 1-2-2 record. Campbell had all four goals for WOHS in the tie against Dayton.
