WEST ORANGE, NJ (updated Tuesday June 12, 9:56 a.m.) – The West Orange High School varsity softball team, which won the Super Essex Conference-Colonial Division, featured several players who earned All-SEC-Colonial Division honors.
FIRST TEAM
- Nahtali Simpson, senior shortstop. A four-time First Team All-SEC selection and team captain, Simpson became the program’s all-time hits leader this season with 144 hits.
- Erin Vermeal, junior outfielder. A leadoff hitter, Vermeal had 39 hits this season.
- Andreyah Ageday, junior outfielder. The first-year varsity starter had 30 hits this season.
SECOND TEAM
- Sophie Scholz, sophomore pitcher. She sported a 12-8 record this season.
- Siena Pizzano, senior third baseman. A four-year starting baseman, she served as a captain.
- Danielle Fastiggi, senior. A four-year starter and captain, Fastiggi collected her 100th career hit and finished with 102 hits.
HONORABLE MENTION
- Meghan White, senior second baseman. A three-year starter and captain, she had more than 30 hits this season.
The Mountaineers, under head coach Joel Troast, finished with a 16-12 overall record, winning the SEC-Colonial Division with a 7-1 mark.
